What happens when a potential customer finds your website, only to realize your company does not sell what there looking for? Do you leave them with a good feeling? Probably not, if there looking for something else, you have just wasted there time. The customer then leaves with a “bad taste” remembering that when they visited your store front on-line, they did not find what they were looking for. I really do not know where this comes from, maybe the old car salesman ad that promises a brand new vehicle for 10K. You think great deal, only to find out after stopping in, they sold it just before the ad went out? Is this a common tactic used to get you in the door? It just might be! When there was room for this last year in online marketing, your website pays dearly for it now.
So when we say targeted website traffic I am touching on a strategic Internet marketing approach that turns your visitor into a potential customer before they even know your there.
Let me give you another example, your searching for “New Tires” and end up looking at a used vehicle with “New Tires”. Am I getting close? This is just frustrating to the person looking for “New Tires”. Weather you buy or don’t buy from that destination you visited, the idea that the website is still getting some type of exposure is acceptable. This is common to companies that have not yet tapped into the true purchase power of the consumer. A shining example of the opportunity that is looking back at you everyday! You have spent the time to listen to the industry, you have invested money to compete in the space, and it is like the equivalent of tossing a pebble in the ocean if your website is not getting quality website traffic.
So why not make a real splash, I am talking about dropping part of the Grand Tetons from low earth orbit! This was the idea when you started your new website right? Consider it an object in motion, with a solid Internet marketing campaign it can only pick up speed! I can still remember that day when I was introduced to Google -and then having to learn how to “search”, looking for instructions across Internet on “How to use it”. This is an algorithm in motion -the mathematics that simply drive results and ultimately your bottom line. This is about targeting your website traffic, and providing these visitors with right content the first time. I don’t know about you, but I would be a little upset if I showed up to buy my new vehicle, only to find out it was sold just an hour before I arrived.
